HKMF 2010 Seminars - Focus on Technology and Innovation

Introduction

The Hong Kong Music Fair is organized by IFPI (Hong Kong Group) Limited in collaboration by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council since the year 2005. Its purpose is to provide music business matching between the many sectors that are connected with the recording industry for the common goal of mutual prosperity. Each year HKMF provides a thematic approach, for example the SME business matching and Talent Showcase in the past events.

While the world has seen fast technological development in communication and ways to connect people, the music industry had not reaped such benefits successfully and the business is still faced with the negative impact of vast un-authorised file sharing on the networks. Music sales had spiraled down globally for the decade. Hong Kong is hard hit too.

The industry believes that it needs to move forward and face the challenge by all means. While this situation the industry faced is brought by advancement in technology, solutions may come from technology and innovations too. Some of those efforts are already showing signs and promise of success. It is what this edition of Hong Kong Music Fair is all about and it will explore the situation by inviting experts in the business to share their experience and methods in how to advance the music business under current social, economic and legal environment.

HKMF organizes on 22nd March, 2010 at Hall 3C, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre the two seminars decided to solutions findings.

Access is free of charge and all those connected with the music industry and all those have interest to attend are welcome.
